Rustins Quick Dry Decking Stain & Seal is a waterborne stain that dries to a water-resistant matt finish and gives long-lasting protection to all external wood, while allowing the natural grain to show through on timber decking.
The coloured water-based acrylic stain is low odour, non-yellowing and resists cracking, peeling and blistering. It is available in Brown Cedar, Antique Pine and English Oak.
During preparation, surfaces must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease and contaminants, smooth and sound. Fill large cracks, open joints and damaged areas with Rustins Professional Wood Filler. Remove mould, lichens, algae and moss with a stiff garden brush or a scraper.
Rustins Decking Cleaner can be use for cleaning. Do not apply to damp timber as this will prevent the product from penetrating the timber and adhering, causing the product to flake off.
Use a synthetic brush during application and apply liberally with a full brush. The first coat may be diluted with water on hot days (up to 15%). Do not apply to hot surfaces or in strong sunlight if possible. Subsequent coats will darken the colour. Do not apply when rain is expected.
Two coats are ideal, but for best protection apply three coats. Rustins Quick Dry Decking Stain & Seal is touch dry after just 30 minutes. On hot days, it may be touch dry within 10 minutes.
Re-coating time is four hours minimum, depending on temperature and humidity - ideally 15-25°C. Do not apply below 10°C, in high humidity or if rain is expected.
Coverage is approximately 12-15sq.m per litre, per coat, depending on absorbency of surface.
For maintenance, clean surface thoroughly with Rustins Decking Cleaner and apply further coats as required.

Shelf-life/Storage: Many years if stored in original, tightly closed container in normal conditions. Do not store below 5°C. PROTECT FROM FROST.

Clean-Up: With water whilst still wet. If dried-on, clean equipment & brushes with Rustin’s Brush Restorer.
