Description

Coo-Var Floor Paint

Single pack floor coating for multiple surface types

Coo-Var Floor Paint is a resilient and hardwearing single pack floor coating designed to be versatile, easy-to-use and economical in decorating and protecting surfaces. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, Coo-Var Floor Paint is compatible over most previous coatings and gives an off-gloss finish. Available in 12 colours available, this floor paint is suitable for use on wood, metal, concrete or glass reinforced plastic. It is also suitable for floors, walls, ledges and stairways - both indoors and outdoors. Coo-Var Floor Paint can also be used for foot and light truck traffic use. Not only does this floor paint protect against dirt, grime and oil, but also dust and some solvents. Not recommended for use on asphalt, bituminous surfaces or on thermoplastic floor tiles.

Application: Roller or brush

Drying time: Touch Dry 4 hours or 12 hours hard dry

Overcoat time: 16 hours or overnight

Estimated Coverage: 9-11m² per litre

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. Concrete - power floated, granolithic and smooth surfaces should be roughened first to provide a good "key" for the paint. This can be done mechanically by abrading or blasting, or chemically using Coo-Var Acid Etch. These processes will have the advantage in addition to preparing the surface of also removing dirt and laitance. New concrete must be allowed to cure thoroughly which can take up to 3 months. Other surfaces have to be prepared and primed with the suitable primer for that substrate. Existing painted surfaces - Surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced. Remove all loose and flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate and prepare accordingly.

Application Conditions

As dictated by normal good painting practice. In confined spaces, provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.

Preceding Coat

Coo-Var Penetrating Wood Primer on wood, Coo-Var Zinc Phosphate Metal Primer on ferrous metals, 10% thinned Coo-Var Floor Paint or Coo-Var Alkali Resisting Primer on concrete.

Customer Product Reviews

  • Easy to apply

The Coo Var Floor Paint I bought covered the surface very easily and was easy to apply. Just follow the steps on the tin and its easy enough. I would recommend it.

  • Great floor paint for the money

I didn't expect the most professional paint for the price, but it did a really good job. A little seems to go a long way. Dries hard and durable.

  • Really good paint for my garage

Really good coverage. I have always heard good things about Coo Var so I went for their floor paint for my garage. Simple to apply with a brush. Great value.
