Description

Sherwin-Williams Floorcoating Resuseal WB Clear

Two pack water-based epoxy resin

Resuseal WB provides attractive, hard-wearing and dust-free finishes. This industrial resin flooring can act as a curing membrane to increase the hardness of concrete. This resin is perfect for factory and food units. It is also suitable for all types of masonries, asphalt and wood substrates - especially automotive workshops.

Resuseal WB Clear allows full hydration of cement and can be applied to new concrete just seven days after being poured. Ideal as a seal coat for concrete, floor sealer or primer and as a high-build primer for both epoxy and polyurethane resin-based screeds.

Recoating can take place after 16 - 24 hours. For light traffic areas, wait between 24 - 48 hours, full traffic 48 - 72 hours and a full chemical cure 7 - 10 days.

Theoretical coverage rate is 32m2 @ 150 microns for 5kg.

Full product data sheets and safety data sheets are available on request.

Product Benefits

  • Low odour
  • Ultra-low VOC content
  • Silica free
  • Superb adhesion
  • Hard-wearing
  • Case-hardens and dust proofs
  • Hygienic

Surface Preparation

Areas to be coated must be clean, sound, dry and free of any contaminants that could impair good adhesion.

Substrate temperature should be between 10-30C with relative air humidity of 70% maximum.

Cold, high humidity and lack of air movement can cause a patchy finish, gloss reduction and delay in curing and damage to final properties.

To prevent this, ensure good drying conditions and air ventilation prevail throughout the application and cure of the product.

New concrete must be clean and sound with surface laitance removed preferably by vacuum enclosed shot blasting or mechanical grinding, a minimum strength of 25N/ mm2 is required.

Open, porous substrates may benefit by applying one extra coat of the specified primer.

Existing concrete floors must have all dirt, oil, grease, old paints or any other surface contaminants removed by vacuum enclosed shot blasting, scarifying or mechanical grinding.

Fats, oils or greases must be removed by mechanical means and detergent washing and rinse with clean water to make sure all residue of detergents and/or chemicals are completely removed.

Local repairs should be carried out prior to main application by using the specified primer then Resuscreed PA and followed by specified system.

Priming

Open and porous substrates will require priming. Resuseal WB Clear is recommended and depending on the porosity and texture of the surface to be primed may require two coats. Resuseal WB Clear will not seal block work as it is a thin film primer.

Application

Pre-mix the base component to a uniform consistency then add the entire contents of the hardener to the base. Mix by using a slow speed handheld powered mixer and mixing paddle for approximately two to three minutes to achieve a consistent mixture. Note: Do not use a separate mixing bucket as it may affect the mixing ratio.
Apply the whole mixed paint by using a spreading rake, roller and brush to achieve the maximum coverage within the specified pot life time frame. Do not add water to this product.

Slip resistance can be improved by lightly broadcasting anti-slip aggregates on the first coat (after primer) while still wet and back rolling, at a rate of 50/100 g/m2.
When cured, apply the second Resuseal WB Clear coat to secure the aggregates. Do not apply Resuseal WB Clear on top of polyurethane coatings, as it may not adhere properly.

Resuseal WB Clear can act as a curing membrane to increase hardness of concrete by allowing full hydration of cement.

Resuseal WB Clear can be applied to a new (green) concrete, seven days after being poured.

In such cases, expect surface gloss reduction and delay in cure process due to substrate dampness.
