Rustins Quick Dry Worktop Oil is a unique water-borne blend of natural plant oils and other special ingredients that nourish and protect all types of timber.

Engineered as a quick-drying wooden work surface treatment, the oil is ideal for interior hardwood and kitchen worktops. It leaves a durable and water-resistant seal that is not prone to scratching or chipping.

Not only does it add warmth and depth to all woods, including oak, beech, teak, mahogany and veneered surfaces, the plant oils also derived from sustainable sources and are used largely to replace crude oil components used in synthetic resins.

During preparation, the surface must be clean, smooth, dry and free from wax, dust and contaminants. Apply liberally with a clean rag or brush and wipe off the surplus oil after a few minutes.

The first coat should be applied liberally with a brush and allowed to dry without wiping. Nibs may be removed from the final coat by applying the oil with a scouring pad, rubbing in the direction of the grain, then wiping away the surplus with clean rags or paper kitchen towels.

Bare wood requires three coats and some need sanding between additional layers. Drying time is around 2-3 hours, depending on temperature and humidity. Extra coats may be added once the previous coat is dry. Do not apply below 10°C.

Coverage is approximately 13sq.m per litre, 1 coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood.

Rustins Quick Dry Worktop Oil is sold in 500ml and 1L containers.
